LAW 6 - ASSISTANT REFEREES return to law index

Two assistant referees assist the center referee in controlling the match.
Assistant referees' duties, subject to the decision of the center referee are to indicate:
when the entire ball goes in and out of bounds of the field of play (Law 9).
which side is awarded a corner kick (Law 17), goal kick (Law 16), or throw-in (Law 15).
when a player is offside (Law 11).
when a substitution has been requested.
when an infraction has been committed out of view of the referee.
when offences have been committed whenever the assistants are closer to the action than the referee.
whether a goalkeeper has moved forward before the ball has been kicked during a penalty kick, and whether the entire ball crossed the line.
ensures that the players' equipment meets the requirements of Law 4.
Assistance
The assistant referee may enter the field to help control the 10 yard distance during free kicks. The referee may relieve an assistant referee of his or her duties in the event of improper conduct by the assistant referee.
